Explain how it went from being 46th coldest thru 4/30 to the coldest on 5/18.

  • For the first four months of 2014, the =ytd&parameter=tmp&state=110&div=0&year=2014&month=4#ranks-form]contiguous U.S. temperature was 38.7°F, 0.4°F below the 20th century average, and the 46th coldest January-April on record. This was the coldest four-month start to a year since 1993.
