> AT&T got worse and worse to the point where I couldn't even get calls in the middle of Seattle

I'm gonna second you on that one. Once I do my switch over, not a small task, I'll NEVER use ATT again.

They lie to me on a regular basis. On weekends my DSL constantly looses connection.

They just suck. Incompetence reigns. Every time they post an ad on facebook complaints rain down in the comments section.

For me this is on topic as I'm VERY wary of buying anything that has a taint of "hassle to use" or maintain.

Android seems like the boy who cried wolf, its gotten it wrong long enough, why should I believe them now?

Sony burned me years ago. Never bought another (new) Sony.

Ford burned my mom years ago. Wouldn't even thing of buying a Ford again. Even a used Ford.

"It's different now" wasn't true for AT&T vs. Verizon, and I don't trust it's true now for Android vs. iPhone
It's always free for you to try. I'd love to see your reaction after doing so. An OS in its infancy compared to it's state years later after years of refinement (and is now globally dominant and gaining) is a larger difference than you're presuming.
