If left on its own Libya will split between West and East, and the Southern tribes will just be territorial. The regions have fierce century old conflicts, which were suppressed under a dictatorship. Leave the whole Middle East alone. Let them settle their disputes and set their own boundaries, which would mostly be based on tribal division. The West created Nation States from the colonial times until after WWII. This is what will be dismantled without our influence. Let it go, then negotiate with the remnant victors for oil resources or whatever. They need us more than we need them at this point, but there is so much noise they can't stop to think about that.
