"Earnings would be tough over the next 6 months with inability to raise prices in the face of increasing costs (eg, labor), but the 2nd half of '98 would be good after companies got a handle on things."

I would just add that she was not referring specifically (IMHO) to tech stocks but all stocks in general. My personal opinion is that other costs like interest rates will partly offset higher wage costs and more importantly increased productivity will make this a non issue for most companies except the most labor intensive."
