Robert, I am glad you brought this up, Matt. 12:46-50 for the account in Mark adds alot of depth to this situation. Mark 3:20-21 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered so that He and His disciples were not even able to eat. When His FAMILY heard about this, they went to take charge of Him for they said, "He is out of His mind." Then in verses 31-34 is a repeat of your quote in Matthew. His mother and brothers (or family) obviously arrived ready to straighten Him out and join in the blasphemy that occured from the teachers of the law in verses 22-30. The Lord knew their intent and knew they were not coming in the will of God and protected them from what I believe to be the worse sin Israel had commited. Their saying He was from satan was a turning point in His ministry as well. In Matthew He goes into the woes and starts using more parables from that point. A true oldest son in the Mosaic law would never disown or dishonor His mother so there must be more to this. Nancy

Let me explain a little bit more about that point. God always rescues the tribe of isreal. No matter what they do, granted they are punished. I can not think that God would not rescue his people again with a softening of their heart so that they accept Jesus Christ. I also should of pointed out that you must be born again to get to heaven and not just being a jewish person will get you into heaven. Thanks for the welcome remember that Jesus said to love God with all you heart and to lone one another and show charity to each other which is the new commandemnt.
