Re: "Would you mind a few reasons why please?"

Jim - sorry for jumping in but I noticed your post about selling AMTX and buying WSTL at these prices. I'm still holding on to AMTX - I don't know why. Won't tender my shares and I guess hopin' for a better deal. Obviously you think there's a place for WSTL.

Would you mind a few reasons why please?

Peter

No offense Peter -

I thought I stated why in my post:

"Though with the DSL block party happening in Feb. 98, perhaps we will see a replay of 1996 rise in price. From $10 in Jan 96 to a split around $85. in June was a great ride if you were on the train."

I'm not trying to side step your question, though I will not endorse anyone's motives for buying Westell at this point.

It's a speculation play on my part, I'm confident WSTL will return to $20, just as I did when Amati hit it's yearly low in Mar, and made the April Fools Jump from $8. to $15.

Westell is still a pure ADSL Play, and hence the Street may treat it, and the sector, as in did for the high rise in 96, when DSL becomes Hot next year, Hopefully when the DSL Block Party happens Feb. 98, sponsored by MSFT & INTEL.

I've talked to Westell personnel at 3 shows, and have been fairly impressed with their views, opinions and knowledge.

I've been a DSL'er for two years, over that time I've read more than my fair share of information. Shezz, Pat & I used surf for hours looking for stories around the world when there were none, sharing via email.

It has been an educational experience, but the people of this thread have made it a rewarding experience, from meeting some in Vegas, to having lunch with Steve Sacco & the legendary Walt Deemer at Ron Jon Surf Shop here in Cocoa Beach. A little luck and maybe some Holiday Email, I might get Fib, and a few others back posting, here and there, with their insights and tips. We even had the father of Token Ring posting here for a while, his name escapes me at the moment??

Thanks to everyone for the information and good times.

Happy Holidays to YOU and to ALL!

I sold my AMTX also. I figured its getting to be D-day and there are lots of other opportunities right now due to tech meltdown that i didnt wan to miss.

BUT I do have 100 April 20 calls just in case there is a higher bidder. I am not sure what happens to my calls after Dec 23.
