I knew a med student long ago who was stabbed something like 25 times by a visiting friend who freaked out. Small knife. Other students got him in the car, drove him across the street to the ER. Near -death must have made an impression, cuz I think he is now the medical examiner for Clark Co, Nv.
Can't get shot 25 times and survive.

Oh, probably because knives are useful for dining, preparing food and cutting things, while guns are never used for these utilitarian reasons.
