The point is that it would not be true for many stocks that did not present the risk adjusted return opportunity that Apple did. Consider RIMM, NOK, Sony as examples.

"There's not much value in saying, "if you're lucky enough to have selected this precise reinvestment schedule, a stock's relative performance doesn't mean much".
Luck had little to do with it but, that is why you're here, right? You're trying to educate yourself about Apple.
