I also believe that the 'search' companies are in fact internet media companies........however I guess things like this throw me;

Last Quarter Earnings Surprises as reported for third Q 9/30/97.

Earnings Surprise Summary: 5:00 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.

Upside Surprises
Companies whose quarterly net income (or loss) was better than the mean estimate provided by First Call:

...........................................Net Or ............ First Call
...........................................(Loss)........... Mean Estimate

Excite Inc........ XCIT...3Q...Op (23c)...........(49c)
Yahoo..............YHOO.3Q...Op....3c................1c

Granted Yahoo had a profit.......and did 300% better than expected.
And Excite didn't have a profit.

But there is something in those numbers, I see, which evidently most others can't. Am I nuts, or can anybody else see it?

BTW Ron I think you are a friend of the grasshoppers and I've seen your posts.......in the search stocks.....knowing you've also make good money on them this year...I really wonder what you think.
