I have a 40 caliber S&W police issue... it's never been fired... I only have it because someone gave it to me thinking I might need it because of looters after hurricane Katrina... I accepted it because it was a gift with good intentions in his mind, but I would never have purchased a handgun... I even got robbed at gunpoint in 1990 when I first moved to NOLA by two very young punks, these guys were probably about 15-16 years old... Still didn't make me want to buy a gun... but remember, it's not guns in the hands of 15 year old punks that are the problem... also, I actually got held up in NOLA when I was about 11-12 yrs old... We didn't live there, I was just visiting my Dad... it was in broad daylight in mid morning, I was walking back from the grocery store with a bag of groceries... it was 3-4 young punks once again, but this time the only thing they had was a screw driver, so I ran... you can run from a screwdriver,, not so much from a gun
