That's not what happened in Europe. Sure it is. I even showed you the data on another thread.

I've reposted it on this thread. In the UK and France and some other countries spending went up every year. In Italy it went up most years and was flat for a year or two. A few or the worst off countries did cut spending, but that's because their deteriorating economy couldn't support the level of spending they were used to any more, and the cuts where small, not slashes (specific spending items may indeed have been slashed, but the overall topline of the budget wasn't).
