DIANNY RANTS Diann Russell 27 May 2014 Excerpt: The Obama Administration excels at one thing. They are public relations geniuses. They have to be. Obama is such a profound failure that the only way they can prop him up is with the help of spin doctors who are three parts PR hack, one part witch doctor. Barack Obama’s entire public life has been one publicity campaign after another. Every public event carefully chosen to paint the best picture of this man. They work tirelessly to make this incompetent look competent. They burn the midnight oil to make a pure misanthrope look as if he really likes people. They orchestrate grand schemes to cast their America-hating leader as a guy bubbling to the brim with patriotic fervor. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the only people that were deployed on the night of the Benghazi attack were the Obama public relations team. When a fire erupts, they arrive to put out the flames. And nothing is a better example of this than Obama’s use of our military as fodder for photo-ops. The Obama PR first-responders always use the photo-op as damage control. This man — who howled to the heavens about the mistreatment of veterans by the VA when he was running for President — has done the sum total of nothing to see to it that our veterans are given the treatment that they have earned in their service to our nation. Vets lost their lives while they languished on fictitious waiting lists concocted by a bureaucracy more concerned with improving appearances than actually doing the hard work to improve the quality of care. The whole of the Obama Administration is precisely like that. Window dressing and useless gestures while the actual work needed goes undone. No sooner do we learn of Obama’s lack of action on the VA, than Obama quietly flies off to Afghanistan to set up a photo-op as damage control. Quote "I’m here on a single mission & that is to thank you for your extraordinary service." —Obama to troops in Afghanistan pic.twitter.com/FkHRRiIOez — The White House (@WhiteHouse) May 26, 2014 We are all supposed to see this empty gesture as something significant. We’re all supposed to see this surprise visit and say, “Boy, that Obama! He really cares about our troops!” PR. PR. And nothing but PR. “I’m here on a mission & that is to thank you for your extraordinary service?” He was on a mission, all right. A mission to save his own sorry ass. It isn’t the first time Obama has used the troops to stage a photo-op as damage control. Ben Shapiro chronicles them at Breitbart. From Shapiro’s piece: Quote April 2009. Obama made a surprise visit to Iraq, apparently to troops “cheering wildly,” according to media accounts. But accusations flew in the aftermath that the cheering troops had been shuffled – one sergeant reportedly wrote that soldiers were “pre-screened, asked by officials ‘Who voted for Obama?,’ and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up.” Nothing about this man is real. His entire presidency is one staged event after another. The people who surround him, set dressing from Central Casting (AKA the Obama PR Team). Doctors in the Rose Garden who were costumed by the White House. Mothers of children killed by “gun violence” carefully chosen to stand behind the Leading Man. This is how the Obama White House operates. <SNIP> LINK
