If Apple decides to re–engineer the Beats headsets, maybe Bose will suffer. After all, Apple does a great job marketing its products – better than Bose, in my view. Bose is a high end device manufacturer whose products, while performing well, certainly are no bargain. If Apple has some patents that would make noise cancellation headsets better, less costly, or less of a drain on a mobile device, then, yes, Bose would suffer in that market.

I have a set of Bose ear buds, which work well, but certainly could be improved both in fit as well as sound. The good thing about Bose is that if the product doesn't work well because of even a minor flaw, they'll replace it. Or even if it does work well and the customer, for whatever reason, isn't satisfied, they'll give a big discount on a replacement.
