Well, I live in PA now, but used to dwell in Palo Alto, probably the area that was being referred to... Palo Alto and Mountain View. What I saw when I lived out there was Ed McCracken driving his purple Lotus. UNLEASH THE KRACKEN! My favorite quote from Clash of the Titans... Didn't really see any reasons to buy a company based in the colder climes of the far north... other than to maintain a technology advantage that they might have felt was eroding to Sun. But with hindsight it is clear that the real technology advantage is shifting to Intel/Microsoft - Can't compete with powerful, cheap processors or industry standard operating systems. Having mistakenly held SGI through good times and bad for the last year and a half, I'm one investor just waiting for an exit point. It's all good and well to own a piece of a 'fine technology company' but I don't even have the shares to display on my mantle! I'd much rather display a large dollar value in my brokerage account. Of course I do have that neat Cray Solutions button with the blinking red light... Looks great at raves.

Oh radical one :) After several rounds of heated discussion with my fellow camel traders, we conclude: "MV" really means Major Vertigo. You know, fear of heights. Only in this case -INTENSE- fear of heights! However, no worries mate. All you brave souls out there currently long SGI won't be sweating "MV" for the foreseeable future. "PA" is just -short- for Periodic Amnesia. The worse kind of amnesia there is, this "PA"!!! Victims remember vital statistics only sporadically, thereby repeating the same mistakes else avoided through personal experience. I wish no man "PA". Not even Sadam what's his name? Otherwise enlightened, Mathon
