Herb, if you're right about the reasoning behind the Beats purchase Steve is rolling over in his grave. I hope you're wrong. One of the main differentiators for Apple was their higher quality. Anyone can make cheap crap and they do. Once you start down that road where does it stop? Where is the line between "good enough" (gag) and garbage?

Let's say Apple was not a public company and that it didn't matter how much they made nor how many products they sold and "market share" mattered not at all. Would you still like to see them make "good enough" products? Would you buy a good enough product from Apple? Would you be proud to show it off? That last question probably doesn't matter to you but it does to a lot of people.

I can just hear Tim exclaiming about the mediocre products that people just........ think are OK and how proud everyone at Apple is to make them. Yeah, that works.
