Hi Land Shark; Re: "AGW impacts are coming in the FUTURE.";

Let's review the situation.

(1) CO2 is going to make air temperatures rise steeply. But air temperatures have been flat for almost 20 years now, so this didn't happen. But latest simulations are that it is in the FUTURE.

(2) Plants and animals are going to go extinct but even though our CO2 warming started in 1850, no plants and animals have yet gone extinct due to CO2. The extinctions are going to happen in the FUTURE.

(3) CO2 will cause starvation when our fields produce less grain but since 1850 food production per acre has zoomed up. The reduction in yields are going to happen in the FUTURE.

(4) CO2 will cause the oceans to rise and this will be a disaster for humans. But even though temperatures have been rising due to human CO2 since 1850 no such disaster has yet occurred. Instead, the same cities that got flooded 200 years ago are still getting flooded now and the danger of losing Florida to the waves is again in the FUTURE.

Since none of the bad consequences of CO2 has happened yet, it becomes necessary to determine exactly how good the alarmists are at predicting the future. Their shortest predictions were for the temperature these past 20 years and they screwed it up badly.

And that's why the movement to stop fossil fuels is dying.

By the way, did you see the results of the elections in Europe? The thing to remember here is that Europe is ahead of the US in this sort of thing. Socialism is dying mostly due to economic mismanagement and death-wish immigration policies, but global warming alarmism is doing its little bit as well. You'll see these sorts of election results in the US soon enough:

Ukip wins European elections with ease to set off political earthquake
Patrick Wintou and Nicholas Watt, The Guardian, May 25, 2014
For the first time in modern history, neither Labour nor Conservatives have won a British national election
...
In a stunning warning to the established political parties, Ukip was on course to win as much as 28% of the national poll. That is a near doubling of the 16.5% it secured in the last European elections in 2009, when it came second to the Tories with 13 seats.

European Elections: 9 Scariest Far-Right Parties Now In The European Parliament
Huffington Post, May 26, 2014

...
Almost all are Eurosceptic, joining the mainstream anti-EU parties like Britain's Ukip to make up around a third of the parliament.
...
He has regularly been convicted under France's race hate laws, and has called the Nazi gas chambers a “small detail”. The party took a quarter of the vote in France, with its popular anti-immigration platform.
...
The Danish People's party won nearly 27% of the vote and has doubled its number of MEPs. The party's founder Pia Kjærsgaard holds the view that Denmark is not a country where immigration is natural or welcome. In response to criticise from Swden, she retorted: "If they want to turn Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö into a Scandinavian Beirut, with clan wars, honour killings and gang rapes, let them do it. We can always put a barrier on the Øresund Bridge."
...
There were huge gains for the far-right Freedom Party, which gained around a fifth of the vote for its anti-immigration platform.

EU ‘renewable’ energy rules will double electricity bills by 2020. Global warming is not proven - wind power is futile. Scrap all green taxes, wind turbine subsidies and adopt nuclear power to free us from dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil and gas.

Dude, the pendulum is swinging against you. And these things have momentum. They take years to turn around. Ten years from now a carbon neutral society is going to be a dream of the past. I wonder what you will be worrying about. Most of your supporters are just trend followers. Only a few of you will be like Woody Gutherie, mouthing communist crap for decades after the US public switched to "better dead than red".
