Derrick:

I see this as a big win for the client option traders. Hats off to Mr. Flemming for his hard ball win on this one.

Any time there is multiple listings the clients will benefit. Competition means tighter markets and more fair fills for all traders.

In my experience the TSE option pros give better option markets than does the MSE pros. The pros at the TSE generally honour their prices whereas the MSE traders sometimes do not.

When a new listing becomes available, the firms bid on the listing by offering better terms for the clients. This competition is real and results in tighter price ranges and larger minimum fills. The TSE options are well supervised to see that these contract agreements are being fulfilled.

The TSE has an Options Floor Procedure Committee which proposes rule changes and handles complaints from clients and firms.

The competition will be benefical for clients.
