>> Whether it was or wasn't, it became an important issue for the South and conservatives.

So was Jefferson a conservative or a liberal?

What about John Brown?

>> In reality it was written by primitives much like the bible and needs to be updated from time to time.

Fine, there are very specific methods by which it is to be updated. You just need to get busy.

>> Except all the major complaints about the Constitution and its updates come from the right

That isn't true. Liberals have complained about the Citizens United decision, one which is clearly based on the Constitutional premise of Free Speech. Liberals have raised hell about Heller, a decision that was directly out of the 2nd Amendment.

Liberals, like conservatives, want the Constitution to be whatever their beliefs are. The Constitution was designed to accommodate change but to avoid the whims of a fickle popular opinion.

Honestly, given the inferior leadership we have today, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to tinker with it at this point in time.

In reality it was written by primitives much like the bible and needs to be updated from time to time.

Which is why it allows for amendments.

LOL. Except all the major complaints about the Constitution and its updates come from the right.

The left has become the chief source of attackers of the 1st amendment, and has long been the chief source of those who attack the 2nd. Maybe conservatives complain about, want to change, or might undermine the 4th the most, but not nearly as much as the left goes after the 1st, let along how much they fight the 2nd.

The left has also become the enemy of the 10th. Wanting the commerce clause, and the "necessary and proper" clause to become a "the government can do almost anything it wants clause" (at least if "it" is the left).
