There were liberals in early America. There were lots of communistic communes established in the early 1800's. They pretty much all failed. Most in only a few yrs. Socialist kook, Robert Owen, financed one of these failed social experiments. When he came to the US to promote it, the US Congress actually invited him to give a speech to them. But liberals didn't control the schools, media or courts.

I think you're watching too much MSNBC.

Why don't you take the time to read the opinion rather than just listening to Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow's interpretation.

The amendment process via Article V's Convention of States is the only way we're going to get amendments at this time. I believe if the states want to take on that challenge I certainly would support it. But it seems to me that there are enough state politicians in the pockets of the parties that it is an exceedingly difficult road.

I would hate for the traditional method to be used to actually get an amendment, because any such amendment would be like the Obama election -- based on political dogma rather than what's good for the country.
