There are times when the "point" on a knife is used to start incision that can be continued by the blade. People use knives for other purposes aside from cutting construction paper. I hope those calling for a ban on knives also ban sharp sticks and rocks to avoid dangerous injury.

Feds Spend Nearly $200K To Study How Transgender Women Use Facebook… You tax dollars, hard at work. Via Free Beacon: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is spending nearly $200,000 to study how transgender women use social networking sites like Facebook and how their use affects their chances of getting HIV. The Friends Research Institute, based in Maryland, received $194,788 last month to begin the project operating on the premise that due to “transphobia” transgendered women are forced to use social media as an outlet, often leading to risky sexual behaviors. .... Why and how does "transphobia" force anyone to use facebook, etc? And what's the link between social media and HIV - I thought they got that from things you can't do over the internet. More importantly, why did they only allocate $200K for this vitally important research area? I blame Republicans, the Koch brothers, and Ted Cruz.
