Dependability of medical care IS an economic good, promoting and furthering sustainable economic growth. Just as rule of law, peace, and contract reliability are. Furthermore, the earlier that preventative medical care is given the greater the cost savings in the long run... so there is plenty of solid evidence (economic and medical) establishing that principle. (If you want to claim that it isn't economically beneficial you will have to come up with Macro-Economic analysis that establishes that it ISN'T... anecdotes and gut feeling are insufficient for that purpose.)
