Should I be shorting Cheniere Energy (LNG)?
Cheniere Energy has been denounced on this board for at least 10 years.
Reason will tell you one thing but the market will do another.
I've been bady burned in the past shorting Cheniere.
As long as Wall Street keeps believing the story, the stock will continue to soar.
Approach shorting Cheniere with caution. The madness can outlast your margin
resources. Use a stop. Good luck!

Zebra,

I went short LNG Jun 70 naked calls Thursday afternoon and so far a day early as it continued higher Friday.

Spent a good deal of time reading about Cheniere this weekend.

Conclusion - what a bloated pig. Gross executive competition, tons of debt, insider selling and tenuous story of exporting LNG from North America. Don't understand the excitement.

Small position and willing to be assigned short shares at $70

Michael

Here's how Cheniere does it (note all of the former gov't. officials and cronies involved -- even some oldies from 1980s S&L scandals and a former Enron-ite or two):

As I (and others) have posted here for some years, I wouldn't touch LNG stock (long) even with someone else's money. Sooner or later, it will be the next Enron story.
