<<CMM continues to buy Presstek for new clients.>>

Well, someone has to buy those shares that Cabot Money Management is selling. And what is much more important is that not only is Cabot Mony Management selling shares, it's net exposure as a % of assets is also declining. At the end of June, Presstek was 28% of CMM's asset base. As of the end of September, Presstek had declined to 19% of CMM's asset base. Even if Presstek's price had not declined, the % would have dropped. So, in spite of what the bulls and CMM say, the facts are in the 13F disclosures, and the facts say that CMM is de-emphasizing Presstek.

What is also interesting in analyzing the Cabot 13F is how typical Cabot is of inexperienced money managers. Cabot's normal strategy has been to have a concentrated portfolio of high growth stocks, such as PRST, ZOLT, and VTSS. But with performance poor this year, Cabot is abandoning its strategy, and is expanding its portfolio into the normal, large cap stocks that every money manager is buying. Cabot expanded its portfolio from 36 stocks in June to 48 stocks in September, adding such "mainstream" stocks as LLY, MCD, BK, DJ, and WLA (as well as adding to small positions in INTC, MSFT, G, et al) and decreasing his position in the aforementioned PRST, ZOLT, and VTSS.

"Even when the PearlGold wins a prize, you ridicule it. (Or is that Pierre?"

My comments were not ridicule, rather points of clarification. When Heidelberg first won a GATF award in 95(?), PRST announced it as if they had won the one and only prize for the year. It was only when I received the GATF press release that I realized that this was one of some 12-15 handed out. That is not ridicule. Industry prizes are nice but its the bottom line that counts, and one does not necessarily lead to the other.
