I agree - but the market seems to think that Joe sixpack is the
primary market for computers.

Unless they make the Slot I /Slot II keep moving ahead how can
they prevent the clones from converting this into a commodity
market?

Re: partnership with Microsoft - you maybe be right - but what
is the alternative - the only one that looks viable is Java.

Re NEC: I asked Yousef about re-use of chip fabs for CPUs - he seemed to think it would take 2 years.

I personally would like it if Merced were accelerated - AMD and
Cyrix seem to be quicker at their designs (I know its a different
field they are in). There is always a risk that when a company
becomes this big that the pace of innovation (where it counts)
is not as quick as with a small company.

It is a very complicated situation that I'm sure Andy can resolve
but its not going to be easy.
