Herb,

The effect I'm looking at is a very short term effect of linkage between the expiring option and the stock price on that day... nothing to judge a long term buy decision on. Plus the effect is skewed when external forces are in effect ie the price will vary based on news releases, Alan Greenspan, court judgements, etc.

When I said that the price might go up, it was based on that being the direction, this week, that would cause most of the options held to expire worthless.... not a plus for the options holders.

I don't have a WDC chart to look at, so I cannot comment if it would have given indications of the price direction.
