There's certainly no harm in offering the option, but my first thought was these were features Apple needed to put in to placate the Android power users who are expected to be switching to iOS once the big screen iPhone was available. The last thing Apple wants is complaints from Android diaspora missing their pet features. Along those lines, Apple even made an off-hand mention of hands-free activation of Siri, for all the MotoX fanboys out there!
