Already, neglected vets are dying of treatable diseases, while bureaucrats announce that taxpayers will now foot the bill for sex change operations: Transgender people receiving Medicare may no longer be automatically denied coverage for sex reassignment surgeries, a U.S. Department of Health and Services review board ruled Friday in a groundbreaking decision that recognizes the procedures as a medically necessary and effective treatment for individuals who do not identify with their biological sex. Our bureaucratic masters ruled in favor of a 74-year-old man going by the name Denee Mallon, who has decided that he wants to start over as a girl and that we should pay for it. Those with less politically correct medical needs than sex change operations will be deprioritized. But they can always just take a pill, as Obama infamously advised. The original purpose of Medicare was to provide necessary medical coverage for the elderly when they cannot provide for themselves. But given the nature of government in general and our government in particular, it was inevitable that it would degenerate into bureaucrats stealing people’s money to finance grotesque procedures to surgically deform the bodies of the aging mentally ill for the greater glory of left-wing ideology.
