I am not short this stock and was putting out the question to understand a little more about why some stocks go down and others up. It seems to me that there really is no way to pin down why Amzn keeps going up. The only thing that I can think of is that there sales gains quarter to quarter have been impressive. But it doesn't seem to be something you can do math on. Meaning I don't think if I used the same model to find other companies, these companies would also be going up like Amzn. It seems like each company has it's own life and is not something to figure out on paper. Does everyone agree. I also was realizing that part of the upmove lately in the stock is due to the Christmas selling season. Amazon should post much better sales growth than the last 3 quarters.

I think what I see that will bring Amzn down would be the following:

1) Sales growth does not increase as quickly as the quarter before.

2) News of any competition that would take away business from Amzn.
This could be a direct attempt by a competitor to take away customers by offering cheaper prices and also a user-friendly webpage.

#2 is what happened to Etrade and it was what brought it down.
