“People, if they begin to lose their wealth, they change their mind real fast, I’ve found,” Tyson stated. “Particularly in a capitalist culture.”

He's 100% correct in his conclusion, but 100% wrong in his interpretation of the cause.

Killing energy, real energy, in the name of "global warming" hysteria, is a sure way to cause civilization to lose wealth. People are not going to like that. And stating that raising the PPM of CO2 (plant food) by a few points, from its current miniscule level of 0.035% of Earth's atmosphere, will cause water levels to drown the Statue of Liberty is, quite simply, bullshit.

Tyson should stick to debunking silly creationist twaddle. Examining realistic earth and space science and history make for an interesting and informative Cosmos series. He cheapens it by going off the rails with "global warming" hyperbole..
