John, it is about time he changed is attitude. Perhaps blaming the speculators did not increase his popularity. Worse, it could have damaged it. Not everybody is so gullible.

John: The main point of Mahathir is scary for US companies:

<< Mahathir prescribed new medicine for the region's strugging economies, urging ASEAN member state to buy goods from each other, not more costly foreign products, to help lift themselves out of the crisis.

"We should buy ASEAN," he said.>>

John, >>Malaysia PM urges ruthless economic surgery

What is interesting in this report is he is calling for asian governments and citizens to buy from each other and not high priced foreign goods. The US has never been able to pull this off..I wonder if these countries will be able to. If so US and Europe could be in more trouble that I thought.

Denial - Step 1. Now he's ready to talk the talk - Step 2. First evidence that he really isn't walking it will be the sign to buy Malaysia - Step 3 (because shortly thereafter they will be forced - Step 4).

Unfortunately I'm already in. But my guess is that things will proceed rather rapidly given the currency's situation.
