Koan was too stoned to know what was going on at the time.

Nixon bombed NVN into signing the Paris Peace Accords in January 1993 and withdrew American troops. By the end of 1973 there were 50 American military personnel left in VN. In 1974 the Democrats impeached Nixon and he resigned in August 1974. By next January, NVN had made a deal with Congressional Democrats so they could invade without the US coming to SVN's aid. NVN sent tanks across the DMZ and the Dems denied any aid, ammunition or fuel to SVN to insure it fell. Same thing happened in Cambodia and Laos at the same time.
