Well, the Cubs have been beating up on the Mets so far. They seem to have a rope-a-dope technique going.

Watch out though. We've got our long-haired hippy pitching today.

Fargo is great. It has set a new standard. By comparison, True Detective was dumb.

I too thought Mad Men was really good this first half of the last season. All of the major characters have strengthened - Betty speaks Italian! - and it is building to a serious climax. It's crumby they're making us wait a year, but I still want to see Don out the window at the end.

I'm not so into Silicon Valley. I'm sure you realize that one of the nerds was one of the nerds on Party Down. I prefer Veep, though I feel it's growing thin. Best comedies on now - Amy Schumer and Louie. Schumer can be so on the nose sometimes that it outweighs the times when she's not. And Louie's more tragic than comic, but still . . .

I'm getting a little petered out on this golden age of television stuff. I couldn't care less about Penny Dreadful, and I consider all new series with skepticism.
