>> However, the current Congress has sunk to a new low in its ability to perform and I would not have trusted them to deal with this issue with any kind of sensitivity, rationality and expediency..........all conditions necessary to getting Bergdahl back.

That's a really dumb point of view. The entire point of the House, the Senate, the executive and the Court is that a reasonable amount of agreement is required or stuff isn't SUPPOSED to get done. That's how it works.

I would point out, however, that Democrats and Republicans alike have made the point that Obama is not any good when it comes to dealing with the other party. Or his own, either. He and Reid, together, have effectively poisoned the well.

Until now, Reid has been the biggest problem standing in the way of getting anything done. He has refused to bring any meaningful legislation to the floor for a vote. You can hardly expect that kind of intransigence to be accommodated by the House. Until Reid is gone, I do not believe anything WILL get done. And if the House and Senate can't come to terms, that's the way it should be.

Relevant quote of the day: "When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal." -- Richard Nixon, to David Frost when interviewed after being forced out of the presidency.
