I believe everyone want to see veterans get proper health care. I would argue that from what I have seen so far, there are a couple of causes of the VA fiasco. The root cause is an obsolete special health care system for vets. Vets would get better care if the healthcare portion of the veterans administration was abolished and vets were given favorable access to the private sector doctors and hospitals. The current setup has not worked well for decades. The recent influx of veterans into the system has overwhelmed an outdated framework. I make no excuses for the delays vets have had accessing the system, but treating the symptoms of the problem and firing a bunch of folks is mostly political theater. There may be plenty of people who should be fired, but let's not confuse that with an effective solution.
