A couple of statements by economist Harry Dent, author of "The Great Boom Ahead":

"We are on the verge of the greatest stock market boom in history."
"From 1982 to 1990 we had a burgeoning economy that surprised almost everyone. The coming boom may be even more astonishing in its intensity."

Taking data on the average annual family spending by age along with the demography of number of people reaching age 46, the peak spending year, Dent showns remarkable correlation to historical stock market performance. He also makes a case for continuing low inflation during "this era of prosperity" based on declining numbers of 20-25 years olds joining the labor force in the years ahead. The numbers of people reaching age 46 increases to a peak of about 4.4m in the year 2005.

Dent's investment outlook - Three major "Power Alleys":
1. Emerging growth companies
2. Third World countries in Southeast Asia, Latin America, East Europe, and Northern Africa.
3. Small town, vacation, and resort real estate.

If you can't time the market, hang in there for the long run.
