CJ, It is looking like they are leaning in the direction that he did not intend to desert and would have come back. Unless he starts yelling "Allah Akbar" and "death to America", they will probably throw up their hands and say "5 years as a Taliban prisoner is enough" and give him a DD. A DD would be fine by me. Either way, this move completely backfired upon Obama. What should have been a PR victory for him turned into a fiasco. Maybe Obama can try again by working toward the release of Kenneth Bae. If he does, I would be impressed. Tenchusatsu

The facts are going to come from the soldiers on the ground who know what happened, and they are being pretty outspoken about it. Have there been any soldiers coming out in support of the guy? The bigger issue is the one of the president's lack of judgment in making this trade, because it lets the opposition now recognizes that the the country will make these trades under this president. And frankly, if another solider were to be captured for real, how would the president justify NOT trading with them? It is just more incompetence from what is easily the most incompetent, and most corrupt, incompetent and criminal administration in our history.
