Mary, re: Intel's secret strategy.
If I remember correctly, Intel used that strategy in the DRAM, Digital watch, (Microma Div.), Calculator, Memory Systems, ASIC businesses, etc. Don't think they're in those any more. I took a look at the IAL page on their web-site. My concern is that the focus here is also on commodity businesses. IMO, Intel has never been very successful in commodity businesses. They're really good at high-end, proprietary business. That's what got them where they are. Personally, that's where I hope they continue to create markets and enjoy success.
