I think its a pretty good analogy. Both the Solar system and Monsanto will some day cease to exist. But, before that time arrives, both will provide some excitement and good times. As far as the bet being placed, I did that years ago. MTC back in the 90s, and then MON a few years ago. So far, so good. I don't think Monsanto will evaporate in my lifetime. Hate for MON does exist. I didn't mean that you hated Monsanto, but the hate that obviously exists helps to hold the share price down, enabling long term investors to prosper. This is similar to the tobacco stocks.
