35 years ago, my wife managed a union operations crew at a manufacturing plant. She refers to it now as "baby sitting". Totally counterproductive, constant bickering and complaining. Just like children.

Stupid shit. One of the most ridiculous things I ever heard of was, back at the time satellite radio came into existence, GM was rushed to get satellite radio into its higher-end cars. You'll still see these riding around sometimes, with the antenna on the left side instead of in the middle where it was supposed to be. My friend, who was involved in the process, explained: The union contract would not allow them to put it in the middle because it doesn't allow the workers to reach more than 18".

We'd damned sure have never had automobiles if those requirement had existed when Ford was building 10,000 Model Ts a day.
