"... prayers would be a “pause in politics” and had no political aim other than to rekindle the desire for Israeli-Palestinian peace at the political and popular level, according to the Associated Press. "

The agenda is completely political, what pause? It is being done to accomplish the most significant political aim for that region in more than a century and a half. Not to mention, it has no potential to impact relations between the Palestinians and the Israelis. Why do world leaders think we are so dumb? It would have been just as easy to have said, 'we have hopes this event will lead to major political changes.' They did kind of say that, even thought they tried to discount it with the non-political verbiage.
