Sankar I do not know why the premiums are high. One reason is that Govt owns a major portion of these companies. . The price movement of these stocks now has less to do with fundamentals more with the news and emotions. Most people who buy these companies in USA are buying due to chart patterns looking for double and triple bottoms. SKM the largest cellular operator in Korea( 90 % market share) is selling at a Korea P/E ratio of 4 and has been growing at greater than 25%. KEP is the sole provider of electricity in Korea and probably has a better credit rating than the Government of Korea ( if it were possible.) These companies are not going to go bankrupt. PKX has the most modern steel plants in the world and managed by a visionary manager.

I have been trading these companies since last 6 months and made a little bit of money. These stocks are very volatile and You have to know them well to be able to trade them. Long term they are buy's
now. Short term they will go down some more if Korea defaults.

Good Investing.
