Raw data is raw data. Be it from satellite or from weather station, it needs to be compensated for environmental factors.

Isn't that like a doctor taking your temperature and then "compensating" (upward, of course) to indicate that you're running a fever, so he can sell you some drugs?

There should be NO massaging of raw data. Just put the damn surface stations and temperature gauges in places where there are no heat islands. (Airports, urban centers.. etc)

And place a LOT MORE of them, instead of decommissioning them as is currently happening, so you have more data.. We've gone from 6,000 to around 1,500 now.. That's FEWER data points.

And then make the data PUBLIC.. not try to hide it as Phil Jones and Michael Mann did with "Climategate"..
When it comes to the issue of "global warming" the more data, the better..

Unless you're trying to make us buy Carbon Credits....(drugs), so we can live..
