koan, you can't use terms like "higher order thinking" if you want to make friends and influence people. When you say stuff like that it sounds like you are a creating a hierarchy of people in which you are at the top level and everybody else has to work to achieve your level of thinking. Most people are capable of understanding even the most complex situations if you present them in a way that they can relate to. YOU need to try and put yourself into the OTHER guy's shoes and try to understand WHY he thinks as he does. If you can't do that then you're never going to be able to communicate on stuff. At least with the people on these threads.
