Real shocker. I was beginning to feel good that the establishment Republicans were gaining the upper hand and that democracy would survive due to a healthy opposition.

I don't understand why anyone would think that the upheaval going on in the GOP is something that can be managed by the more moderate GOPers and is simply a passing fad. In fact, the teapers and their cohort intimidate the more moderate RS who are quickly becoming a minority within the party. Many so called Rs are not that far in their thinking from the Bundy ranch extremists. There is a good chance that in the not too distant future, moderate independents and Dems will have to figure out where the line in the sand must be drawn.

Its really quite amazing to watch the R's eat their own.

I passionately disliked Cantor; couldn't even stand to hear him speak. He was at the heart of gridlock and the party of government shutdowns, the party of "no" strategy and the defeat Obamacare over all else strategy.

Suddenly, he's defeated in the primary by a tea bagger and all the right wingers are rejoicing... even the rabid anti-Semites on SI are coming out of the woodwork.

What a cluster f*ck the right wing has become... don't know how anyone can buy into ever-changing partisan mess that seems to lack any real ideology beyond hatred of the government and the unprivileged.

<<I am wondering if Cantor can run as an Independent like the Alaskan Senator did and ultimately won.>.

Different dynamic with Murkoski. Dems elected her. Dems have their own guy in that race. And Cantor is a terrible person. Good riddance I say.

The good thing about this Tea party guy, is he is a real crazy piece of work. So people will see how crazy he and the pubs are more easily; and that helps us.

Cantor was camouflaged and people couldn't see just how terrible he is.

Cantor will not run as an independent. He is a team player. Not like the chameleon Crist in Florida. Cantor spent 5Million. The Professor spent 150K. It was Cantors support for amnesty for illegals that was his downfall. Pure and simple. Most Americans want our laws inforced and immigrants welcomed but legally through the system. It is a shame that many of the politicians put politics before the law and our best interest.
