"Back in January, in the midst of one incredibly cold winter, John Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, posted a short video on the agency’s website entitled The Polar Vortex Explained in 2 Minutes. In that video, Holdren claimed that a “growing body of evidence suggests that the kind of extreme cold being experienced by much of the United States as we speak is a pattern that we can expect to see with increasing frequency as global warming continues.” In short, global warming was responsible for colder winters."

Yes. Francis's discovery. Jet stream is getting floppy cuz of the arctic melt.

" That was why, in April, we filed a formal request for correction with OSTP under what’s known as the federal Data Quality Act."

LMAO. They should formally request that he labels his blog as teenage fiction.

While this [polar vortex] study solely examines January, a regional domain, and uses different data to quantify atmospheric circulation, the results presented here are not congruent with the large-scale flow changes suggested in those latter papers [linking Arctic sea ice loss to polar vortex behavior].

The study cited only focused on the month of JANUARY, and concluded that the polar vortex did not influence polar ice melt. 1st of all, polar ice melt mostly occurs in spring/summer/fall months and that study couldn't possible make an authoritative conclusion, using it's methods, on polar ice melt linkage to the polar vortex. They don't make any conclusions in the paper about linkage of the polar vortex to AGW.

Another case of some conservative stink tank/PAC/lobby group spreading misleading or irelevant stuff.
