Iraq Asked U.S. for Strikes, Rebuffed by Obama
................................................................................................................
New York Times ^ | June 11, 2014 | By MICHAEL R. GORDON and ERIC SCHMITT

As the threat from Sunni militants in western Iraq escalated last month, Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki secretly asked the Obama administration to consider carrying out airstrikes against extremist staging areas, according to Iraqi and American officials.

But Iraq’s appeals for military assistance have so far been rebuffed by the White House.

A spokeswoman for the National Security Council, Bernadette Meehan, declined to comment on Mr. Maliki’s requests and the administration’s response, saying in a statement, “We are not going to get into details of our diplomatic discussions, but the government of Iraq has made clear that they welcome our support” in combating the Islamic extremists.

Besides, who's foolish enough to think Obama would bomb muslim extremists? Its not like they're old white guys.

There will be a "Fall of Baghdad" within a week, much like the Fall of Saigon in 1975. And we all remember the outcome. We need to start using the word: Cambodia. Let the whole world know once again, that trusting Democrats leads to tyranny and death. The tag line will be: Obama lied and millions died.

When the 2016 Obama’s America came out and the last section of the movie foretold the then future in Obama won a second term the future seemed bleak and while it was a concern it seemed exaggerated to sell a movie so to speak but I think Dinesh D’Souza was spot on and it seems Obama decided to ratchet up the destruction before 2016 even.

Obama announces end of Iraq war, troops to return home by year end

He said the last American troops will depart the country by January 1 “with their heads held high, proud of their success, and knowing that the American people stand united in our support for our troops.”

Mr. Obama said Friday that “Iraqis have taken full responsibility for their country’s security” and said that the relationship between the United States and Iraq going forward will be one of equals.

“It will be a normal relationship between sovereign nations, an equal partnership based on mutual interest and mutual respect,” he said.

Get all of our troops out of that hell hole. Those camel jockeys have been killing each other for centuries and nothing we can do will change that.
The current pukes that are running our government have no clue how to wage or win a war. All they do is waste American lives and waste money.

Romney, Perry hammer Obama over Iraq pullout

“President Obama’s astonishing failure to secure an orderly transition in Iraq has unnecessarily put at risk the victories that were won through the blood and sacrifice of thousands of American men and women,” he said. “The unavoidable question is whether this decision is the result of a naked political calculation or simply sheer ineptitude in negotiations with the Iraqi government. The American people deserve to hear the recommendations that were made by our military commanders in Iraq.”

By losing Iraq Obama’s goal is to depress our military and its mission. To make them all feel that it is not worth risking your life fighting our enemies. Why die or get injured if we let our enemies win?

Romney wasn’t the only GOP presidential candidate to attack Mr. Obama in the wake of the announcement. Texas Gov. Rick Perry suggested “President Obama is putting political expediency ahead of sound military and security judgment by announcing an end to troop level negotiations and a withdrawal from Iraq by year’s end.”

“The President was slow to engage the Iraqis and there’s little evidence today’s decision is based on advice from military commanders,” he said.

Michele Bachmann called the decision “a political decision and not a military one,” claiming “it represents the complete failure of President Obama to secure an agreement with Iraq for our troops to remain there to preserve the peace and demonstrates how far our foreign policy leadership has fallen.”

“In every case where the United States has liberated a people from dictatorial rule, we have kept troops in that country to ensure a peaceful transition and to protect fragile growing democracies,” she said. “We will now have fewer troops in Iraq than we have in Honduras - despite a costly and protracted war.”

“We have been ejected from a country by the people that we liberated and that the United States paid for with precious blood and treasure,” she added.

Jon Huntsman said Mr. Obama’s decision “to not leave a small, focused presence in Iraq is a mistake and the product of his administration’s failures.”

“The president’s inability to reach a security agreement leaves Iraq vulnerable to backsliding, thus putting our interests in the region at risk,” he said. “An ideal arrangement would have left a small troop presence that could have assisted with the training of Iraqi security forces and vital counter-terror efforts.”

This is the very reason I am skeptical of supporting U.S. involvement in these types of wars. I did not initially support the 2nd Iraq war, although I did see our presence there as a buffer between Syria and Iran. U.S. politicians have no will to properly prosecute wars. Wars need to be decisive and definitive and we need to be prepared to control and occupy the conquered, not set up puppets and abandon them. Our recent history proves we are unwilling to do so therefore I’m reluctant to support these incursions.

The Iraq War is Not Over: US Prepares for Direct Military Intervention, Drone Airstrike Campaign

By Bill Van Auken
Global Research, December 27, 2013

Two years after President Barack Obama declared that his administration had ended the catastrophic US war in Iraq “responsibly… leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant” government, the US has rushed emergency shipments of Hellfire missiles to Baghdad and appears to be preparing for a possible renewal of direct military intervention in the form of drone missile attacks.

These measures are a response to an appeal from the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the New York Times reported Thursday, and come in the face of a rise in violence to a level not seen since the US military “surge” of 2008, with over 8,000 Iraqis having lost their lives over the last year.

Military experts cited by the Times, however, expressed skepticism that the Iraqi military, even with such material assistance, will prove capable of defeating a growing Al Qaeda-affiliated insurgency in the country’s predominantly Sunni Anbar province.

The Iraq War Is Not Over
Since the departure of U.S. troops, it’s only heated up.
JUL 1, 2013, VOL. 18, NO. 40 • BY KIMBERLY KAGAN

Sectarian war has reignited in Iraq. Iranian-backed Shia militias have remobilized, Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) is conducting an intensive and escalating campaign of spectacular attacks against Shia targets, and some of the former Baathist insurgents are staging an effective campaign against the Iraqi Security Forces in the vicinity of Mosul.

The deteriorating security results from two trends that have caused both Sunni and Shia extremists to mobilize and gain traction. The first is Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s deliberate marginalization and ouster of prominent Sunni national politicians, which has led to a six-month-long Sunni protest movement. The killing of 53 protesters and wounding of another 200 in Hawijah on April 23 caused some protesters to rejoin the insurgency. The second trend is the radicalization and mobilization of Shia militants, both to serve in Syria and to oppose Al Qaeda in Iraq.

This makes me sick to my stomach. Obama is ruining any and all trust we had built up with Israel, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia, and he is in the process of doing the same with Japan, China, and South Korea.

Even the new Australian PM is forging alliances to thwart the Clown’s global warming agenda.

He lost face with Brazil when it was discovered he had tapped their phones. Same with Germany.

The only friends he seems to have is with the mullahs in Iran and the rabidly pro-sodomy David Cameron in Britain. And neither of THEM are particularly loved by the populations THERE either.

A disaster all over the world. Massive suck.
