Saul, that article is old news and was already discussed here. Basically, before that article came out MRVC was running an ad pointing out the cost/performance benefits of the MRVC product. This apparently pissed Bay Networks off, so they got PC Week to print an "article" (really more of an ad) suggesting Bay had a better product. Keep in mind that Bay has large ad revenues for mags like PC week. This article suggests that price and performance aren't important, which isn't realistic.

I'll comment again on the "not manageable" part, which is very misleading...and pretty much a "red herring". Thing is, you generally only re-configure a switch once in a blue moon, after you install it. On the other hand, you have to live with the cost up front, and the performance every single day.

...you need to understand that the earlier Ad by MRVC was in a magazine that competes with PC week...aha
