Y2K-GOLD - Cisco earnings warning

This is a copy of my reaction on a posting from Bobby Yellin on the POG thread:

exchange2000.com

<<
broke down and bought Barrons this afternoon..there was mention
that Cisco just warned its investors on the impact the year2000
might have on their sales..
>>
Bobby,

Right, that is what I am expecting from lots of co's the coming months. Increasingly, we will see a split in 2 types of co's:

- those that help solve the problem
- those that do not; or only in a very limited way

Stock analysis will increasingly reflect this split.

<<
a friend told me that with the savings and loan bailout..the biggies
who were at fault sheltered their money by buying huge huge homes,
expensive cars and art since under the law..their homes and cars couldn't be taken away..or something like that..
>>

That only works in an inflation scenario; but not in a deflation scenario, I think. What do you think?

Regards,

John
