On friday there were 30 contract trade for Dec. $5 calls. I'm not sure what that might mean, esp. since they expire next friday. Perhaps the closing of covered call positions.

Stocksmart. Need to be a subscriber, but they'll give you a free 10 day trial. When you're in a stock, select Options Trading. It's a good site for TA.

I also subscribe to Quote.com and re-read Don W.s comments on NBR. Bottom line, he's still buying some at these levels, but wanted to acknowledge that it's volatile. I've followed several highly speculative stocks and have noticed a "it's darkest right before the dawn" type of trading activity in the stocks. Many, many times, for reasons that are unexplainable, a stock gets hammered right before it gets set to climb to great levels. A couple friends of mine were in Cognitronics several years back, got in at $8, it went to $3 or $4 (where, by the way, they freaked and sold), and is now somewhere around $18. I could go on with the examples.

Regarding everyone's "I talked to a friend of mine" comments - I say, bring it on. This is the only place that Individual investors can share information that normally only big traders would have access to. Unfortunately, if you spout off too much, your source may dry up. Anyhow, it seems that some earlier posters saying that DA did call them back IS true as he returned my phone call as well. (Bummer, I had my phone forwarded to voice mail, but he made the effort to return a call of mine.)

Everyone, keep up the good posts. Whether it be TA or FA in nature, it all contributes to being able to make a sound investment decision in VLNC. IMO, I do think that we're right around the corner with production and OEM deals. The company was incorporated around 1989, so it'll be 9 years next year that the company has tried to make this product successfully. Initial estimates of production (after the false start in 93) were 1st Qtr 97, then mid 97, now 1st Qtr 98. Ok, so the company missed it by a year. In the grand scheme of things, that's not bad.

Here's to a profitable 1998.
