Maliki has shit all over the Sunnis now for years and what should they die for?

One would think the standing army in Iraq wouldn't be considering fighting to the death or not, they should be considering slaughtering the rebels or not. As I wrote the Iraq military probably have better weapons, better organization and communication, better leadership, and better supply lines. It's completely bizarre that a bunch of "rebels" pop up out of the desert and are better equipped and prepared than the Iraqi military.

To the extent that there is corruption in the Iraqi military, that's all the more reason to put up a fight - they would want to maintain the thing that gives them the fruits of the corruption. Once they let this bizarre invading rebel group gain control over anything, the military leaders (and normal fighters) will lose whatever benefits they hold.

There was also an article here about how the rebel group had captured the central bank in one of the occupied cities and obtainbed $500 million in gold. So......why in the world didn't the military take that rather than leave it for these "rebels"?
